Jones AT&T Stadium is an American college football venue on the Texas Tech University campus in Lubbock, Texas. First opened on October 18, 1947, as Clifford B. and Audrey Jones Stadium in honor of the university’s founding patrons, it was rechristened in 2000 following a naming rights partnership with AT&T. Today it accommodates roughly 60,454 spectators. Its signature horseshoe configuration, red brick exterior, and boldly painted midfield Double T emblem embody Texas Tech tradition. The facility has seen multiple renovations over seven decades: a $51 million expansion in 1999 added nearly 20,000 seats; a multi-phase upgrade in the early 2010s modernized concourses, installed premium club seating and luxury suites, and expanded the West Stadium tower by twelve stories; and a 2019 renovation replaced the playing surface with durable FieldTurf and upgraded drainage. Game-day rituals include tailgating across adjacent lots, the Goin’ Band from Raiderland’s stirring rendition of fight songs, and the arrival of the Masked Rider, the world’s first costumed mascot. Beyond football, the stadium hosts concerts, graduation ceremonies, charity events, and community tours. Featuring state-of-the-art college football’s largest video boards and a modern crimson façade, Jones AT&T Stadium remains a symbol of Red Raider pride and West Texas hospitality.
